i feel that the picture is missing some sort of looming/foreboding shadow coming from the large bird cuz it doesnt look very menacing right now. specially with that light coming in through the window, the shadow would make snese right?
Also you have such a tight crop on the right side, I don't want to bother looking at the left side. It's really choking up your composition.
Try removing the ax head that's on the right to free up that space.
Actually now that I look at it, I don't like the position of the other ax thing either. I'm not sure what they are? I can see they're decorative and pointing at your focal point. But they aren't really contributing to the piece at all. In fact I think the perspective might be a little weird the right one. But either way they're both commanding more attention then your subject. I say get rid of them both and put something smaller and closer to the value of the walls that way they don't command all the attention.
